Richard Polk, a 1977 graduate of Texas A&M University, is the owner and founder of RNP Solutions. In 1986, he founded Aimlight, Inc. where he invented and developed the first dedicated weapon-mount target illumination system. He later combined target illumination with laser aiming , both visible and infrared. He was the first to develop a detachable rail system to attach wide variety of equipment to the weapon.
